IFP YOUTH BRIGADE WELCOMES IFP's NEW ROLE IN
KZN
November 2, 2006
The IFP Youth Brigade today welcomed the departure of the two
IFP MECs from the ANC-led KwaZulu-Natal Government.
"The absence of the IFP in the ANC government presents a
historic opportunity for the IFP to fully exercise "opposition
power" until 2009", said Thulasizwe Buthelezi, National
Chairperson of the IFP Youth Brigade.
"The IFP already governs 35 out of 61 municipalities and next
week we will be governing 36. Our absence in provincial
government therefore will not derail us from being the voice of
the majority in KZN. Instead, our superior position at local
government level will add renewed impetus to our new role as a
fully-fledged opposition prepared to govern in 2009," added
Buthelezi.
"The IFP Youth Brigade calls for a "total onslaught for power"
to be engaged and sustained against the ANC. The ANC has already
proven jittery in power, and ours is to hasten their departure
from power through robust and combative opposition," concluded
Thulasizwe.
