The IFP expressed its deep shock at the
reports that documents relating to the to forensic investigation
into the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture, Environmental
Affairs and Rural Development have gone missing, which may lead
to the escape of those Service Providers and staff implicated in
acts of corruption. The story of the missing documents was
revealed by the Acting Head of the Department, Siddiq Adam
before the Finance Portfolio Committee on Friday. Tabling the
Motion in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature today, IFP MPL Mntomuhle
Khawula said:
"This House;
1. Is deeply shocked to learn of the missing documents at the
infamous Department of Agriculture, which could lead to the
escape of those Service Providers and staff implicated in acts
of corruption.
2. Is suspicious that this is part of
a deliberate ploy to sabotage the legal process and save the
alleged culprits.
This House therefore resolves to:
To urge Premier Mkhize to urgently institute a Commission of
Inquiry into how these documents have been lost with a view to
bringing to book, whoever may be responsible."
