The IFP has noted the resignation of Bob Mabaso, the Social Development MEC in the Gauteng provincial government following allegations of sexual harassment.

"As a politician and a professional, Bob Mabaso was outstanding. It does not come easily to an opposition party to applaud the performance of a cabinet minister from the ruling party, but in Mabaso's case party loyalties must step aside," said Gertrude Mzizi MPL who leads the IFP in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.

The IFP will follow Mabaso's disciplinary procedure with close interest. The party will support the outcome.
