IFP RESPONDS TO NGUBO'S ARREST

Durban: April 3rd, 2002

The IFP National Organiser, Mr Albert Mncwango MP, today said that the IFP welcomed the long awaited arrest of Mr Russel Ngubo, an ANC strongman in the Midlands for the murder of IFP leader, Mr Ernest Nzimande.

Mr Mncwango said:

"The IFP has a lot of unanswered questions regarding the systematic campaign of assassinations against IFP leaders in the greater Mpendle area going as far back as 1992 with the murder of IFP leader Master Shelembe."

"We believe that Mr Ngubo and his accomplices can throw some light on who conducted these murders, including the murders of Nash Ngubane, Mgudleni Madlala, Amon Mshengu, David Molefe and Damasius Khumalo."

"The IFP commends the Scorpions for arresting Mr Ngubo and his accomplice. We believe it is essential that the rule-of-law takes its rightful course and that no stone is left unturned in search of finding the complete truth and uncovering who masterminded this grisly orgy of death and mayhem."
