Mr. Eric Lucas, the IFP spokesperson for Minerals and Energy, expressed appreciation for the long-awaited statement to be made by Public Enterprises Minister Alec Erwin in Parliament next month.

Mr. Eric Lucas said: "This has been a burning issue since February and the IFP welcomes a thorough explanation surrounding the circumstances and origin of the bolt that damaged Koeberg's rotor."

In conclusion Eric said: "The IFP will be grateful for a clarifying statement, as the damage to Koeberg's unit one rotor has been a major question and we hope for some clear answers to take back to the public."
