In response to numerous media inquiries, the IFP would like to make it clear that its upcoming 2007 Annual General Conference is not an elective conference.

“Our last elective conference took place in 2004, following the general election. Similarly, the party’s last leadership election took place last year following the 2006 local government elections,” said IFP National Chairperson Zanele Magwaza-Msibi. 

The next elective conference is due in 2009, following the next general election. 

This year's conference will be held between 12-14 October 2007 at eMandleni/Matleng, Ulundi.
