IFP National Chairperson Zanele
kaMagwaza-Msibi who is leading her party's national voter
registration campaign is taking it to the Uthungulu District
today and tomorrow.
"The IFP voter registration campaign is
targeting previously unregistered voters as well as those who
have registered and voted before but are unsure about their
current registration status with the IEC," said
kaMagwaza-Msibi.
The primary focus of the party's voter
registration drive is the general public but the IFP is also
taking its message to civil servants, business people, taxi
operators, farmers, and traditional, community and religious
leaders in a series of dedicated meetings.
The campaign's programme in the Ilembe
District is as follows:
Wednesday, 5 November:
09h00 - Meeting with amakhosi, izinduna
and traditional councils
14h00 - Meeting with civil servants, religious and community
leaders
17h00 - Meeting with business people, taxi operators and
farmers
Thursday, 6 November:
09h00-11h30 - Blitz and visibility

12h00 - IFP voter registration campaign address to the public
"We are fighting voter apathy with a
robust programme for change. Change is in the voters' hands but
it can only materialise if they register to vote," said
kaMagwaza-Msibi.
The IFP National Chairperson has
previously taken the campaign to Zululand (twice), Uthukela,
Umzinyathi, Sisonke, Ugu, Umgungundlovu, Umkhanyakude, Durban
Metro, Ilembe and Amajuba. The campaign will culminate with the
IEC's voter registration weekend on 8-9 November 2008.
