The IFP has raised eyebrows at the sudden
decision taken by the Office of KwaZulu Natal Premier Sibusiso
Ndebele to terminate the services of the chairperson of Amafa
Arthur Konigkramer along with the entire council.
"The Official Opposition has asked Premier
Ndebele to disclose his reasons for this controversial
decision," said Leader of the Official Opposition in KwaZulu
Natal Dr Lionel Mtshali.
The IFP contends that since the dismissal took
effect in the absence of proper transitional arrangements in
accordance with the KwaZulu Natal Heritage Act 2008, the Premier
has effectively broken the law by relieving the Amafa council of
its duties.
