IFP REACTS TO MBOWENI APPOINTMENT

Tito Mboweni’s appointment as the future Governor of the South African Reserve Bank is viewed with considerable circumspection by the IFP. The seriousness of the matter has necessitated that the Party raise the issue for discussion at the IFP National Council meeting, which is due to take place on Friday, 10 July 1998 and Saturday, 11 July 1998.

As soon as the IFP National Council has reached a decision in this respect, the media will be fully informed of the Party’s position as regards Mboweni’s prospective governorship.
