The KwaZulu-Natal IFP Youth Brigade
Provincial Executive (KZN IFPYB PEC) met on Saturday, 6th August
2005, at the IFP Head Office in Durban to discuss, among other
things, the status of its newly elected Chairperson, Mr S'
phamandla Ngcobo and unanimously endorsed the suspension of Mr
S'phamandla Ngcobo by the IFP's National Council last Sunday.
The Publicity Secretary of the KZN IFPYB
PEC, Mr Sboniso M. Khanyile said:
"We in the KZN IFPYB PEC fully
recognise the legitimacy of the National Council and without
reservation endorse the suspension of both the National
Chairperson of the IFP, Dr Ziba Jiyane, as well as the
suspension of S' phamandla Ngcobo, pending the outcome of the
disciplinary hearing. We strongly believe that all members of
the IFP - no matter their position - must be subject to the
Constitution of the Party. There is only one IFP. And we are
committed to it. There may be a few misguided missiles running
around trying to drum up some support for their own
short-sighted agenda but it will soon fizzle out."
"The KZN IFPYB PEC further resolved
that in the light of the suspension Comrade Siyabonga Mazibuko,
current Deputy Chairperson, will act as Chairperson until the
matter is resolved by the Disciplinary Committee."
