Julius Malema has been at it again; this
time spreading more animosity by telling students at the
Mangosuthu University of Technology that he was glad to address
them at such a beautiful campus, regardless of the fact that it
had the "wrong name".
"The IFP believes that Julius Malema is
a dangerous rabble-rouser; a bad example to the youth of South
Africa and his recent bizarre outburst at the Mangosuthu
University of Technology amounts to hate speech," said Alfred Mpontshane, the IFP's Education spokesperson.
Mpontshane said that the ANC's efforts
to undo Prince Buthelezi's legacy was now becoming rather
desperate.
"In a country which is currently
grappling with severe skill shortages, Malema, if he had any
integrity as a leader, would have paid tribute to Prince
Buthelezi for his lifelong dedication to education and for his
effort to establish an institution which has contributed greatly
to the education and training of our youth. But instead Malema
had to again indulge in his cheap politics by taking a swipe at
our President," said Mpontshane.
Mpontshane said it is high time that the
ANC leadership made its position clear on Malema's extremely
controversial statements.
"Every time Malema propagates his
offensive, divisive rhetoric or every time he plays the race
card, he opens the gap between our people a little wider. What
we want to know from the leadership of the ruling party is
whether they agree with his statements of not. Or are we, as the
broader South African community, to assume that the ANC's
inability to act against Malema is a clear indication that his
views are their views?" concluded Mpontshane.
