Please note the IFP will launch its local
government election campaign on Sunday, 15th January 2006 and not on
Saturday, 14th as had been originally announced. All other details
remain the same.
The IFP's Secretary-General, Rev. Musa Zondi
today announced that the IFP will launch its 2006 local government
campaign on Sunday, 15th January 2006. The first part of the launch
will take the form of a press conference in which the President of
the IFP, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, will unveil the IFP's National
Manifesto as well as its campaign theme to the media. The second
part of the launch will take the form of a rally, in which amongst
other things, IFP candidates will be presented.
The press conference will take place in the
Prince Imperial Room, Durban Manor, Durban Club Place (off Smith
Street), on Sunday 15th January 2006 and will begin at 10h00. Tea
and coffee will be served from 09h30.
The rally will take place at the King Zwelithini
Stadium in Umlazi, Durban and is scheduled to begin at 13h45 on the
15th January 2006.
Accredited media are invited to submit their
bids for one-on-one interviews with IFP leadership, which will take
place immediately after the press conference on 15th January, via
email (ifpinfo@iafrica.com).
Please note that the media will be required to
be accredited to attend these and all other campaign events.

The deadline for media accreditation is
Thursday, 12th January 2006. Only properly accredited media will be
allowed into the venue and be allowed to pose questions to IFP
leadership at the press conference and all other campaign events.
