IFP Applauds Crime Protest Outside Parliament
MEDIA STATEMENT RELEASED BY:
MR VELAPHI NDLOVU MP
IFP SPOKESPERSON FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY
March 9, 2007
The Inkatha Freedom Party's Spokesperson on Safety and Security,
Mr Velaphi Ndlovu MP, today supported the protest against crime,
especially crime against children, outside Parliament.
"It was touching to see that so many people came to support the
pink-tops-and-jeans protest against children becoming victims of
crime," said Mr Ndlovu.
"Hopefully this will send another clear message to Government
that people on the streets are sick and tired of crime and that
crime is not a perception, but a stark reality we have to deal
with everyday.
"We hope for swift justice in the murder case of 7-year-old
Sheldean Human. The IFP's prayers and thoughts are with
her family and all the families in South Africa who have lost
loved ones to crime," concluded Mr Ndlovu.
