IFP Sends Condolences to Families of Plane and Bus Victims

The Inkatha Freedom Party's Chief Whip, Mr Koos van der Merwe MP, today extended his condolences to the families of the seven South Africans that were on board the ill-fated Kenya Airways flight 507 as well as the 43 people that died in vehicle accidents in KwaZulu-Natal and Lesotho yesterday.

"The Inkatha Freedom Party would like to send our most heartfelt condolences to the relatives of seven South Africans who were on board the doomed Kenya Airways flight, which crashed in Cameroon at the weekend. We pray that God will comfort their families during this very difficult time," said Mr van der Merwe.

"Furthermore, we would also like to express our commiseration with the deaths of the 39 textile factory workers who died in Lesotho's Leribe district yesterday and the four people who died on the R603 near Mid-Illovo, KZN, when a bakkie and a truck collided.

"We express our sincere sympathy with all the families affected by these heart-breaking tragedies and we pray for them in their hour of grief,"
concluded Mr van der Merwe.
