IFP reacts to reports of violence in the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal

11th April 2001

Mr. VB Ndlovu MP, the IFP spokesperson for Safety and Security has expressed outrage and his deepest condolences to the families of the nineteen-year-old man and the three people who are seriously injured after a gunman open fire in Indanda yesterday.

In his response to reports of yet more alleged gang related murders in the Western Cape last night, Mr. VB Ndlovu expressed, on behalf of the IFP, condolences to the families, friends and the communities of the two men shot dead. He noted the IFP's concern at the new wave of callous disregard for life, which appeared to be gaining new momentum in South Africa.

Mr. VB Ndlovu said,

"I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the loved ones of the victims of yesterday's atrocities and to state how important it is that we establish the motive for the attacks as soon as possible. Incidents of this kind are taking place all to frequently and we need to curtail such lawlessness and disregard for human life speedily."
