The Inkatha Freedom Party has condemned yesterday's
killing of eight people at Mahala Hostel in George Goch, as barbaric. In a
statement issued today, the IFP's Safety and Security Spokesperson, Mr
Velaphi Ndlovu said it is only someone worse than an animal, who would
cruelly spray unarmed people with bullets. Mr Ndlovu continued:
"The IFP is shocked by this horrible and
merciless massacre. This type of barbarism must be swiftly and
ruthlessly rooted out if our country is to survive and not descend to
anarchy."
"The police must work around the clock until
all the perpetrators of this massacre are brought to book and the law
must also show no mercy on them. If found guilty, they must be thrown
into prison and be left to rot there, without any chance of parole. They
are not fit to live even with animals."
"We convey our heartfelt condolences to all
the bereaved families. Further our prayers go to those who are in
hospitals."
