IFP STATEMENT ON TERRORIST
ATTACKS IN THE U.S.A
Durban: September 11th, 2001
The IFP has learnt with
horror and disgust of the terrorist attack against the World Trade Centre
in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The cruelty of the deed
is that hi-jacked aircraft were used to launch these attacks with complete
disregard for the lives of innocent and law-abiding air passengers.
The IFP condemns in the strongest possible
terms these cold-blooded murderous deeds involving thousands of civilian
casualties. Our hearts go out to all the people of the United States of
America at this darkest hour of history.
This horrific tragedy serves as a reminder
to all of us wherever we are in the world that we are not safe from those
who will stop at nothing to unleash their murderous attacks on their
perceived enemies.
We call on the South African Government to
take all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of all South
Africans. Our hard-earned freedom needs to be defended and protected at
all costs.
