IFP condemns death of 15-month-old Khensani
MEDIA STATEMENT RELEASED BY:
MR VELAPHI NDLOVU MP
IFP SPOKESPERSON FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY
October 11, 2006
Mr Velaphi Ndlovu, the IFP spokesperson for Safety and Security,
today said:
"The IFP sympathises and conveys our condolences to the Mitileni
family on the death of 15-month-old Khensani."
Khensani was a victim of a horrific cash-in-transit heist that
took place in Johannesburg city centre on Tuesday.
"The IFP feels absolute sadness at the death of innocent
Khensani, her death was senseless and tragic. We cannot help but
wonder how many other innocents need to fall victim to violent
crime before Government acknowledges that they are losing the
war against crime."
Mr Ndlovu concluded by saying:
"We hope the Minister of Safety and Security heeds the warning
by the cash-in-transit guards of a strike if safety matters do
not improve."
