The IFP Chairperson of Ugu District, Inkosi MZN
Madlala, today challenged a midday report on uKhozi FM, which claimed that
Ugu District was now in the hands of the ANC.
Inkosi Madlala said:
"Reports on uKhozi FM today stating that Ugu
is now in the hands of the ANC is simply not true. We have been informed
of numerous ANC attempts to get our members to cross to them using
chequebook politics."
"But we are proud to report that IFP Councillors have stood firm.
The IFP is appalled at this kind of cheap politicking that allows
democracy to be sold at a price."
"I would like to remind members of the public
and media of the 2002 floor crossing period and how the ANC, when they
could not get any IFP Councillors to join them, used the same tactic of
spreading rumours to media in order to confuse people. Thursday will
come soon enough and we will then be able to take stock of the
outcome."
