IFP had warned the Labour Minister over his name-and-shame
campaign backfiring

MEDIA STATEMENT RELEASED BY:
PRINCE NHLAHLA ZULU MP
IFP SPOKESPERSON FOR LABOUR

September 13, 2006

The IFP spokesperson for Labour, Prince Nhlahla Zulu, today said:
"The IFP yesterday warned the Labour Minister of his hasty name-and-shame campaign of non-compliant companies with transformation. We note that these very companies are hitting back at the Department of Labour (DOL) for labelling them indiscriminately."

"We urge DOL officials to thoroughly check their facts before accusation are thrown about, as well as to improve their inter-departmental communications so that embarrassing situations, like the incident with Ceramic Industries - who have received a letter from the DOL for appreciation of their efforts at transformation - does not happen again."
