The IFP hails Durban's brand new fashion festival
which opens at Gateway shopping centre on October 14. The four day
festival is to become an annual event.
Fashion will come from The Raj, London Project, Hugo
Boss, Keedo, Zoot, Soviet, Sungoddess and Woolworths, to name a few. The
show will also feature seasoned Durban designers in the rank of Colleen
Eitzen, Terrance Bray, Ruff Tung and Holmes.
"KwaZulu-Natal and Durban, in particular, are
home to some of our country's most talented fashion designers," said
Lindiwe R. Mbuyazi, IFP MPP, who holds Arts, Culture and Tourism
portfolio.
Mrs Mbuyazi also said:
"The new festival will offer Durbanites and
visitors to their city a regular opportunity to celebrate fashion and
designer flair across KwaZulu-Natal."
"I believe that the new fashion event will
embrace prospective designers from all corners of our province. In doing
so, the festival will take African art and culture from the rural
KwaZulu-Natal to the catwalk."
"I have no doubt that, in time, this festival
will compete with the well-established fashion events such as the Durban
July and the Gold Cup."
