IFP DISGUSTED OVER ANC TREATMENT OF GIDEON ZULU

February 14, 2006

The IFP expresses its shock and disgust at the callousness and insensitivity with which the ANC in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Parliament are abusing the infirm IFP MPP, Prince Gideon Zulu. Prince Zulu has been absent from Parliament on account of serious illness.

“The ANC have refrained from nothing: they have questioned Prince Zulu’s ill-health, his medical certificates and the integrity of his doctors, knowing full well that the Prince’s condition is serious,” said the IFP Chief Whip in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Parliament, Henry Combrinck MPP.

Combrinck also said:

“If the ANC were genuinely concerned about the waste of the taxpayers’ money on Prince Zulu’s remuneration, why did they not act against their own Member of the same Provincial Parliament, Walter Felgate, whose absence on account of illness lasted three years and attracted no investigation?”
