IFP SENDS CONDOLENCES TO AULSEBROOK FAMILY

May 15, 2006

The IFP sends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of its former MPP, John Aulsebrook, who passed away following a tragic accident.

"John will be forever remembered as a hard and dedicated worker who never failed his party during his best years of service when he chaired the Premier's Portfolio Committee between 1999 and 2004," said Dr Lionel Mtshali MPP, who leads the IFP in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Parliament.

Dr Mtshali also said:

"John's professionalism, passion, wit and easy-going manner cut right through the sometimes tedious bureaucracy of chairing a parliamentary portfolio committee.

"As chairman of the Premier's Portfolio Committee, John did some incredible work. He was instrumental in the restructuring of the respective department and in promoting integrity in the province's fledgling gambling industry."

Aulsebrook served as IFP MPP since 1994. In September 2005 he crossed the floor to Nadeco.
