Mr V.B Ndlovu MP said today that it was "inappropriate and ill-judged" for Mr Madishe, the President of COSATU, to exhort members at the opening of the COSATU Conference to vote for the ANC in the next election, particularly in the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape.

Mr Ndlovu said:

"The remarks by Mr Madishe exhorting COSATU members to vote ANC at the next election were inappropriate and ill-judged because even though COSATU is part of the Tripartite Alliance, its members are drawn from all political parties."

"Members should not feel that are pressurised to vote for a Party other than their choice."
