The IFP's youth structures in KwaZulu
Natal are today meeting at the IFP Head Office in Durban to
discuss their strategy for the upcoming 2011 elections and they
have again renewed their commitment to work towards a stronger,
unified IFP Youth Brigade (IFPYB).
This is the first time that the Acting
Chairperson of the IFPYB Pat Lebenya-Ntanzi and the National
Executive Committee (NEC) of the IFPYB are meeting with the
KwaZulu Natal IFP Youth Brigade Provincial Executive (KZN IFPYB
PEC), since the recent debates on the IFP leadership hit the
headlines.
The entire PEC of the KZN IFPYB was
previously suspended, following an attempt by some sections of
the IFPYB to by-pass democratic processes in the party and to
force a leadership succession battle against the will of the
party's grassroots supporters.
The KZN PEC has since distanced itself
from any calls for a change in the IFP's democratically-elected
leadership by opportunistic means.
The KZN IFPYB PEC are now committed to
contribute towards the IFP's shared objective of a comprehensive
strategy to successfully contest the upcoming local government
elections in 2011.
Lebenya-Ntanzi will be meeting with the
Gauteng provincial leadership on Sunday to discuss similar
strategies.
Full details of the outcome of the
meeting will be made available to the media in due course.
