The IFP welcomes the dismissal of Advocate
Mpelegeng Lebeloane, former director in the office of the
Gauteng MEC for Health, by the Health Department, following
Lebeloane’s rent-free sojourn in two state properties.
“Lebeloane’s actions are a prime
example of corruption,” said Sibongile Nkomo, IFP MPL, who
holds her party’s health portfolio in the Gauteng Provincial
Legislature.
Nkomo also said:
“While the IFP welcomes the official’s
somewhat delayed dismissal, we do not consider her sacking to be
a full expression of justice in this case.
“We appeal to Lebeloane to return every
cent she owes the state and to apologise for her actions to the
South African public whom these actions offended most.
“The IFP also congratulates The Star
newspaper which exposed this instance of corruption and blew the
whistle on the corrupt official. Well done!”
