IFP welcomes progress in Kebble murder case
MEDIA STATEMENT ISSUED BY:
MR VELAPHI NDLOVU MP
IFP SPOKESPERSON FOR SAFETY & SECURITY
November 17, 2006
The IFP spokesperson for Safety & Security, Mr Velaphi Ndlovu,
today said:
"The IFP has long been calling for reports on the progress being
made in the Kebble investigation. The last piece of information
the public received was of a homeless man that came forward as a
witness - and we now welcome the news of an arrest in the Kebble
murder case."
"The IFP is pleased about the positive movements being made in
the case, but we still cannot help but raise concern regarding
the length of time it has taken the police to get this far."
Mr Ndlovu concluded by saying: "To ensure the impartiality of
further investigations, the IFP advises the National
Commissioner to take a leave of absence. Once the investigation
and court case is concluded, Mr Selebi can then take whatever
course of action is available to him at that time."
