The IFP today expressed its gratitude at the arrest
of two suspects in the attempted murder of His Majesty the King's Induna,
Mr Jiyane at Babanango (case 32/2005).
The IFP's KwaZulu-Natal spokesperson, Mr Velaphi
Ndlovu commented,
"These arrests are the latest developments
after we have recently indicated that the Zululand community alleges that
there are a group of people whom they have identified, including the two
arrested, who are apparently involved in political skulduggery in the
area, including political targeting of IFP leaders."
"We are calling on the police to intensify
their efforts in apprehending and charging these people that the local
community allege are involved in political crimes in the area. We also
call on the community to report these matters to the police and to allow
the criminal justice system to take its course."
