IFP leader, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, will be on a walkabout in the Zonkizizwe and Alexandra Townships in Gauteng on Sunday, November 20, urging the residents to register to vote in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for March 1, 2006.

The Prince will interact with the residents, visitors and Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) officials at various registration stations in the Ekurhuleni and the City of Johannesburg municipalities, debating the benefits of voting in the forthcoming elections.

Prince Buthelezi’s message will be to urge the people of Gauteng to exercise their most important political right in order to secure for themselves municipal bodies that will deliver best services which will, in turn, enhance the quality of the residents’ lives.

Prince Buthelezi’s walkabout in the Ekurhuleni municipal district will begin at 11:00am at the Zonkizizwe Library registration station, from where it will proceed to the Zonkizizwe Community Hall at 11:30, and then on to Thoboga Auditorium at 12:00. The Prince will make a number of house calls in the area.

Prince Buthelezi will make another appearance in the City of Johannesburg municipal district, at the registration station in Alexandra’s 8th Avenue old age home at 13:00. From there, the Prince will move on to the Alexandra Library and the Helen Joseph ward where he will address the residents and the media.
