The IFP's National Spokesperson Rev Musa
Zondi said the IFP is overjoyed by the news of the acquittal of
Mr Albert Mncwango by the High Court of Appeal in
Pietermaritzburg today.
Rev Zondi said, "We are delighted,
overjoyed and out of this world at the acquittal of our brother
and comrade Albert Mncwango because we always believed that the
truth would one day prevail. We knew that the political enemies
of Mr Mncwango had contrived to bring these accusations against
him in order to punish him. They tried in vain to manipulate the
law but we are happy now that all the fabrications have been
exposed for what they are."
Rev Zondi also said that it was not only
the IFP who was rejoicing but also in particular the Mncwango
family which has been under this cloud for far too long. He said
that he knew Mr Mncwango was a resilient man because even though
his case did a lot to damage his good reputation in the long run
that good reputation will be restored as he continues to do his
work as a respectable member of society.
He said he wished him well for now and the
future.
