20 July 2007

The Inkatha Freedom Party would like to congratulate South African cyclist Robbie Hunter for making history by becoming the first ever South African to win a stage at the gruelling Tour de France cycle race.

We are extremely proud of Robbie's 11-stage win between Marseille and Montepellier. His performance and victory is even more heart-warming if you consider that this Barloworld team did not get a formal invitation to the race, but was instead handed a wildcard.

Mr Hunter is a great example to South Africa's young cycling talent and to South Africa's youth in general that dreams can come true and that anything is possible through hard work and dedication.

The Inkatha Freedom Party wishes Mr Hunter and his team all the best of luck for the remaining stages of the race.
