IFP National Chairperson Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi has denied the media reports which have suggested that she intended to resign from her position in the party.

"What I will not deny is that the IFP is going through a rough patch following our electoral setback. I, however, believe that the party has a future and that I have a future within the party. I am here to stay," said kaMagwaza-Msibi.

The IFP National Chairperson has reminded the media that her mandate stems from a party conference and that the IFP's rank and file expect her to fulfil that mandate. "If there ever was a time to soldier on, that time is now. I am not a quitter," said kaMagwaza-Msibi.

kaMagwaza-Msibi has urged the party to unite behind its leadership as the IFP rebuilds ahead of the 2011 local government elections. "We have a job to do to refocus our efforts on the upcoming election and I will not allow myself to be distracted from that goal," said the IFP National Chairperson.

The IFP National Chairperson has led the efforts to recoup the party's losses after last month's election through an intensive campaign "Operation Buyelekhaya". "Our message to the electorate is clear: come back home as we improve our performance in the local government and deliver on our election promises," said kaMagwaza-Msibi.
