IFPWB EXTENDS 'HEARFELT CONDOLENCES' TO MSINGA VICTIMS

Durban: 21 October 2003

The IFP Women's Brigade today conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the families, relations and friends of the 15 people who were tragically killed yesterday, as well as to the wider community of Msinga, where a truck careered out of control yesterday mowing down the victims.

The Chairperson of the IFPWB Mrs Linette Zwame said:

"We pray that God will comfort the broken-hearted during this dreadful time and that they will experience the 'peace that passes all understanding'."

"If it should be found that the driver was guilty of negligence and was driving under the influence of alcohol, we condemn such reckless behaviour and call for the stiffest sentence."

"As we fast approach the festive season we urges all driver to take great care to ensure the safety of the public and pedestrians."
