The IFP, through its National Spokesperson, Mr. Albert Mncwango, MP, said today that the current "story" doing the media rounds about three high-profiled members of the IFP defecting to the ANC is totally unfounded.

Mr. Mncwango said:

"You may wish to note that the three people concerned, Prince Simbini Zulu, Mr Mandla Zikhali, Mr Sibsusiso Kunene could not have 'defected' to the ANC yesterday as they had their membership of the IFP withdrawn on the 18th January 2001."
