IFP Takes Control of Newcastle Municipality

The IFP has taken control of Newcastle municipality, the third largest in KwaZulu-Natal, after a vote of no-confidence in the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, the IFP National Organiser, Mr Albert Mncwango announced today. The vote went 33 in favour of the motion and 26 against.
The new Mayor is IFP Councillor, Mercy Dube and the new Deputy Mayor is DA councillor, Mr JA Vorster.
