The shocking news of the death of Mr Neil Muller has been received with disbelief. Those who knew him and worked with him will greatly miss his humanity and devotion to his tasks. As Deputy Director of Integrated Planning and Sustainable Development, it was easy to approach him about community development projects. My passion is the cultivation of gardens in all open spaces in Umhlathuze City, so as to get rid of the bushes where criminals could hide. 

I will remember him by the good work he has done and especially by the project that is currently under construction opposite Ingweni Lower Primary School. I became a nuisance to him as I nagged him on a daily basis to have the area cleared, because women were being raped and killed in the bushes. 

May his friends, family and colleagues be comforted by the knowledge that he did his job well, even under trying conditions. 

Sincere condolences to his wife and daughters and may his soul rest in peace.
