IFP INFORMATION CENTRE : OCTOBER 27, 1998

 IFP backs local Club’s initiatives

The IFP’s National Chairman and the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Dr Ben Ngubane, will lend support to the sailing community when he names the Ndongeni lawns at the Royal Natal Yacht Club on Saturday, 31 October 1998 at 4.00pm.

The lawn naming ceremony will be preceded by a visit from the National Assembly Sport and Recreation Portfolio Committee and representatives from the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport and Recreation. These members will view the Club’s development programme in action on Durban Bay from 2.30pm.

The IFP has been a steadfast supporter of sailing and will continue to do all in its power to contribute and assist in the advancement and growth of the sport. The IFP believes that sailing is fundamental to teaching people to work within a team. It also nurtures a sense of individual responsibility, self-reliance and discipline while cultivating a competitive spirit and a sense of cooperation and respect.

The IFP is given to understand that the Club has already extended an invitation to the media to attend from 2.30pm onwards.
