Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the President of the Inkatha Freedom Party, is set to make four major public policy speeches in Brussels and London over the next fortnight.

From Thursday 3th of March to Saturday 5rd of March 2005, Buthelezi will attend the Third International Conference on Federalism in Brussels. In a speech to the second session on Friday, Buthelezi will reflect upon the present arrangements and his long-held advocacy of a federal system of government for South Africa.

On Tuesday, March 8th, Buthelezi will deliver the address at the Royal International Affairs Society, known more popularly by its location as the Chatham House Address. Buthelezi's speaking topic is 'Breaking down the walls of silence and stigma surrounding HIV/Aids in South Africa'.

The following evening, March 9th, Buthelezi will address the Oxford University Lyceum International Affairs Society with the topic 'combating HIV/Aids in South Africa'.

In both addresses, Buthelezi will provide a tour de horizon of the impact of the HIV/Aids epidemic in South Africa and his analysis of how the disease can be beaten.

During his visit to London, Buthelezi will be giving several television and radio interviews to the BBC and Independent Television, including one with the redoubtable Jeremy Paxman of the BBC2 flagship Newsnight programme.

On Friday March 11th, Buthelezi will address over 2000 delegates at the Liberal Trade Union Congress of Belgium in his capacity as patron of the HIV/Aids NGO, the National South African Workers' Welfare (NASAWW). Buthelezi will be speaking on 'The challenges of development in the global economy: An African perspective'.
