IFP CONDEMNS KILLING OF NADECO MEMBER IN GAUTENG

February 28, 2006

The IFP condemns the killing of National Democratic Convention (Nadeco) member, Ben Msiya, in Mamelodi East, Gauteng, on Monday and wishes to disassociate itself from it. "As signatories of the code of conduct and advocates of a free and fair local government election, we in the IFP condemn political violence in general and this killing in particular," said Sibongile Nkomo MPL who represents the IFP in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. "We wish to convey our heart-felt condolences to the relatives and friends of Mr Msiya." "At the same time, we reject the suggestion made by a Nadeco representative in the media on Monday that the IFP, along with the ANC, have ever intimidated Nadeco candidates and supporters in our respective strongholds," said Nkomo.
