PRINCE MANGOSUTHU BUTHELEZI'S CAR WAS NOT ATTACHED

February 28, 2006

Media reports that Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi's car was attached by the sheriff of the court to pay IFP legal costs are untrue. It would be impossible for Prince Buthelezi's personal property to be attached because the legal costs outstanding were an IFP debt. The Treasurer-General of the IFP, Mr Alex Hamilton, had forgotten to pay the legal account. Nor was any item attached at the Party's Durban Head Office. The matter has now been resolved.
