The IFP's Safety and Security
Spokesperson, Mr Velaphi Ndlovu today condemned the drive-by
shooting last night in which two (2) of its members, eThekwini
Municipality Councillor L.M. Zondo and Mr Mathaba, were injured
and one, Induna Biyela of KwaMashu Hostel, was killed.
Cllr. Zondo is in critical condition in
hospital and Mr Mathaba has sustained severe injuries.
Mr Ndlovu said:
"We condemn this act of violence and
call on the police to act quickly in order to arrest the
perpetrators of this cowardly act.
We further call on all members of the IFP
and the KwaMashu community to remain calm so that the police can
complete their investigations and bring the perpetrators to book
as soon as possible.
The IFP is shocked by this act of violence
and we pass our sincere condolences to the family of Induna
Biyela and we pray for the recovery of Cllr Zondo and Mr
Mathaba. Our prayers are also with their respective families in
their hour of need."
