IFP EXPRESSES DELIGHT AT RELEASE OF STRYDOMS

DURBAN :  29 August, 2000

The Inkatha Freedom Party has expressed its relief and joy at the release of Monique and Callie Strydom from captivity in the Philippines. In a statement issued by Mrs Faith Gasa MP, Chairperson of the IFP's Women's Brigade, Mrs Gasa said:

"We are delighted and feel a great sense of relief that this ordeal is finally over for the Strydom family. We are deeply aware of the effect of this traumatic experience on them and their relatives. We shall continue to pray for their complete healing and for the release of those who remain in captivity."
