The IFP's Deputy National Chairperson, Mr
Velaphi Ndlovu MP, today expressed the sorrow of his Party on
hearing of the death of Cllr Lucky Mzwamandla Zondo (1975 -
2005) who died in hospital last night after being shot in a
drive-by shooting on Tuesday, 27th September 2005. Induna Biyela
was also killed during the same incident.
Mr Ndlovu said:
"It is with great sadness that the
IFP has learnt of the death of our young comrade and friend Cllr
Lucky Zondo. He was a young man who always put the good of the
community before himself. Lucky epitomised the true meaning of
excellent service, both in his community as well as in the IFP.
His absence will be keenly felt."
"We send our sincere condolences to
his wife and his family, friends and all IFP comrades. The IFP
will be praying for his family and friends. God bless and
comfort you in this sad hour of need. We stand together with
you."
"We encourage the police to work
quickly and surely to capture those who are responsible for this
travesty."
