The Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade
(IFPYB) contends that the latest statements by the ANC Youth
League prove that the organisation and its leaders are
politically immature.
ANC Youth League Limpopo provincial
secretary, Mitileni Goodman, has boldly stated that his
organisation would do "everything in its power to smash" the
formation of any party formed in support of ousted president
Thabo Mbeki.
Pat Lebenya-Ntanzi, acting chairperson
of the IFP Youth Brigade, commented: "The ANCYL's Mugabe-style
rhetoric has become an embarrassment to the country.
"We remind the ANCYL that it is
anybody's democratic right to start a political party if they
wish to do so. The ANCYL's latest statement shows a lack of
basic understanding of the constitution, a lack of understanding
of the basic principles of our democracy and politics in
general.
"Not only have Mr Goodman's statements
confirmed the ANCYL's political immaturity but they have proved
that the youth league has no respect for multi-party democracy
and senior leaders of their own party.
"The IFPYB finds the ANCYL circus
presided over by its national leader Julius Malema absolutely
disgraceful. The ANCYL's conduct is arrogance and ignorance
personified," concluded Lebenya-Ntanzi.
