The IFP's Secretary-General, Rev Musa Zondi,
will on Thursday present a dossier to the media on police
brutality that has been committed by the SAPS' Special
Intervention Unit in Nongoma.
The IFP has strongly condemned what it sees as
a series of systematic and well-orchestrated acts of brutality
committed by the SAPS at the command of the ANC.
It has become very clear that the police are
on a mission to destabilise the IFP's election campaign and that
the people of Nongoma have been subjected to police torture for
no reason other than their political affiliation to the IFP.
The IFP will present evidence of countless
instances where members of the public have been harassed,
mothers and children brutally beaten and property destroyed.
Details of the press conference are as
follows:
Date: Thursday, 2 April 2009
