Address by IFP National Chairperson, Ms Zanele Magwaza
Welcoming of NADECO members to IFP
Durban: 16 May 2006
I wish to extend a welcome to all
those present here today and my warmest welcome to our brothers and
sisters who have rejoined our fold from NADECO.
The IFP embraces you with open arms.
The IFP family is excited by the continued return of NADECO members
to their political home. Your return to our family fold vindicates
the position that NADECO is without substance and was formed on
misconceptions about the democratic principles of the IFP. These
misconceptions were deliberately created to cause confusion and
mistrust. We are now at the crossroads where these lies have been
exposed and those who were caught in this trap are returning to
their home, the IFP.
The return of high profile members and their supporters from NADECO
is a continuous stream and signs the death knell for NADECO. No
party can survive without substance, borne out of misconceptions and
with no reasonable vision.
Our warmest welcoming of our returning brothers and sisters will
continue in the coming months. And to our brothers and sisters still
remaining in NADECO wandering in the wilderness we say, when you
have realised that you have been duped we will welcome you back with
open arms. We know that people learn from their mistakes and this
little footnote in our history has only strengthened us all and will
create stronger bonds in future.
