The IFP notes that while the ANC has
been hurling insults at its political rivals such as Cope
because of their internal battles, the ruling Party now too
faces a very real chance of a breakdown of its Tripartite
Alliance.
"We have taken note of the most extreme
division in the ANC in 50 years, with profound implications for
its Tripartite Alliance with the SACP and Cosatu. Even though it
is not in the IFP's nature to comment on the internal politics
of the ANC, we believe that this imminent split will have
serious implications for our country but that it will definitely
bode well for the future of South Africa's democracy," said
Velaphi Ndlovu, Deputy National Chairperson of the IFP.
In conclusion Ndlovu said: "We also hope
that this has taught the ANC one lesson: not to laugh at its
political rivals' misfortunes, because you never know when you
might find yourself in a similar situation."
