Following the success of "OPERATION
SIYABAHLANGABEZA" in Phongolo, Nkandla and Eshowe, the
IFP-aligned South African Democratic Students' Movement
(SADESMO) is pleased to announce that this successful Operation
will be officially launched in Gauteng this weekend.
SADESMO National Spokesperson Mkhuleko 'Leko'
Hlengwa said: "Operation Siyabahlangabeza is a program inspired
by the timeless philosophy of EDUCATION FOR LIBERATION and it is
specifically designed to respond to the needs of high school
learners and importantly to bridge the gap between the secondary
and tertiary education. Career guidance is also a very key
aspect of this program."
The launch of "OPERATION
SIYABAHLANGABEZA" in Gauteng will be coupled with an elective
SADESMO Provincial Conference.
The details are as follows:
Date: 05 June 2010
Venue: Soweto Community Hall
Time: 09H00
Hlengwa added: "The IFP
Secretary-General Reverend Musa Zondi will deliver the keynote
address at 13:00 under the theme 'INTENSIFYING THE REVOLUTION
AGAINST ILLITERACY'. We urge all learners to come out in numbers
and take advantage of this valuable information sharing
opportunity.
Hlengwa concluded: "Sixteen years into
our freedom and democracy previously disadvantaged and oppressed
communities find themselves still disadvantaged and oppressed
and this is totally unacceptable by any norm or standard. It is
our hope that through programs like "OPERATION SIYABAHLANGABEZA"
the plight of these communities will be alleviated. It is high
time that black South Africans begin enjoying the opportunities
that were realised in 1994."
Media are invited to attend.
