The IFP in Gauteng has congratulated all the
matriculants in the province on achieving a fantastic pass rate
of 81.1% in 2011, up from 78.6% in 2010.
"I would like to congratulate all the
successful candidates on the passes they have achieved. The IFP
would also like to extend our congratulations to parents, family
and friends of all the learners who have supported the
successful candidates throughout their schooling careers and
especially through the gruelling exam period," said Mr Petros
Sithole, the IFP's Chairperson in Gauteng.
Mr Sithole said that the IFP was not only
pleased with the increasing pass rate in Gauteng, but by the
increase in students who have qualified to enter into tertiary
education. Said Sithole, "We note that the province also
succeeded in improving the percentage of learners who achieved a
Bachelor's pass, from 33% to 35%. This is truly commendable."
Mr Sithole called on all students who did not
matriculate, not to give up.
"The IFP calls on all students who did not
pass in 2011 not to give up. Just because you failed does not
mean you are failure. You must try again until you succeed.
Education is the cornerstone of your future success; it is the
key that will unlock many opportunities and a brighter future.
As long as you persist, you will be successful," said Sithole.
Sithole added, "To the class of 2012, we wish
you all the best of luck for the year ahead. We will be
expecting great things from you this year and hope that you will
set your sights on improving the pass rate even further."
