Statement by Mrs Ncamsile Nkwanyana
Newly Elected IFP KZN Women's Brigade Provincial Chairperson

7 June 2010

The newly elected IFP KZN Women's Brigade Provincial Chairperson, Mrs Ncamsile Nkwanyana today thanked all the delegates who participated in the Conference on Sunday, 6th June in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal and set the tone for her term at the helm of IFP women in KZN.

She said: 'I thank all delegates who attended the Conference yesterday. It was a good conference full of energy and enthusiasm, which bodes well for our term of office and beyond. We now need to turn that energy into action.

We need to become women busy with purpose, which is service to the people of KZN in the spirit of ubuntu. And we cannot rest until we achieve that goal.

We have not been elected into office because conference delegates liked our faces, our style of dress or how well we sing and dance. We have been elected to lead the IFP KZN Women's Brigade to work for change. The kind of change that will make all our lives better. One thing I have learnt over the years is that small things can bring about big changes. And I look forward to leading the women of KZN in this journey from small actions to big change.

I congratulate all the other newly elected members of the Committee. I look forward to working together with you. I know that together we can achieve big things.'

Members of the committee are:

Deputy Chair: Mrs Nonhlanhla Nzuza,

Secretary: Mrs Molly Ngadi,

Deputy Secretary: Mrs Janet Kubheka,

Publicity Chairperson: Princess PATN Buthelezi Deputy Publicity Secretary: Ms Thembelihle Ngqulunga

Treasurer: Ms Bridget Brown

Deputy Treasurer: Ms Hilda Msweli

'We are all grateful for the foundation that the outgoing committee has set for us. We thank them for all their dedication and hard work and I would like to ensure them that we will do our best to carry on their good work,'

concluded Mrs Nkwanyana.
